Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program
At Ease USA is proud to help reduce veteran suicide through the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP), a federal initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The program honors Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox, an Army veteran and sniper instructor who died by suicide in 2020.
Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox
The SSG Fox SPGP uses a public health approach to suicide prevention by funding community organizations that connect veterans and their families to resources, outreach, education, and support. Created under the Commander John Scott Hannon Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act, the program expands access to prevention tools outside traditional clinical settings.
Grants go to organizations with a track record of providing or coordinating veteran-focused suicide prevention services, including targeted outreach, basic mental health risk screening, peer support, case management, links to VA and community resources, suicide risk education, and help with urgent needs that can increase risk.
At Ease USA’s SSG Fox grant strengthens community support for Veterans at risk of stress, isolation, or suicide. Eligible Veterans receive personalized outreach, peer support, and warm handoffs to clinical or VA services when needed. Our aim is to meet Veterans where they are, lower barriers to care, and build resilience.
Alongside federal funding, private donations help us sustain and grow services while keeping 100% confidentiality. Veterans can trust that their participation and information are treated with respect and discretion
We’re grateful to be part of the Sgt. Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program and hopeful for more funding to expand our reach. Continued public and private support lets us broaden outreach, deepen partnerships, and deliver lasting, Veteran-centered care that honors SSG Fox’s legacy and saves lives.
